George Sanders was charming and the more evil his character the more charming he was. It’s hard to hate him no matter how despicable his actions in a film were. Lex Luthor is charming like this as well, the citizens of Metropolis know Lex is a scum-ball yet they love him. You need an actor which can exude allure and charisma while stabbing you in the back. This is especially true with the current version of Lex who cut off the super-powers of his Everyman recruits, letting many die excruciating deaths. And yet, he must be the same Lex who got elected President of the United States.

If you haven’t seen this movie do yourself a favor and rent it. Bette Davis is at her best with a brilliant supporting cast. Marilyn Monroe has a very small part in it too 😀 .
