Made two trips to the shop this week. Check out my purchases after the break.
Scott Pilgrim VS. The World V2 (Link) :: I bought V1 on a whim a while ago but just got around to reading it this week. I was instantly hooked! Scott Pilgrim is a nice change from the super-hero comics I usually read. It’s funny, original and addicting. I had to kill some time after work on Monday so I went to the local comic book shop and picked up the second volume which I gobbled up.
Adventure Comics #11 (download preview) :: This issue concludes the current Legion/Mon-El storyline. I liked it even though the ending was pretty obvious. This storyline returns Mon-El back to his Valor role.
Superman: War of the Supermen #2 (of 4) (download preview) :: This mini-series isn’t great but it is fun. Each issue amps up the action (mostly by blowing shit up). On the other hand, the art stinks.
Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #1 (of 6) (download preview) :: I always give Grant Morrison the benefit of the doubt. This benefit applies to this issue. It was a fun read but nothing spectacular. It probably would have been more satisfying if Batman (or Bruce even) had actually been missing from the Bat-comics since Final Crisis.
R.E.B.E.L.S. #16 (download preview) :: Another great issue of my favorite (tied with Power Girl, of course) title. Vril pretends to be a good guy, Starfire joins the team, and tons of action!
Scott Pilgrim V5 :: I haven’t read volumes 3 or 4 but I might as well buy number 5. If not, V5 will be sold out when I go buy it, right?
