Superman #140 Oct. 1960: The Bizarro Supergirl! [part 3]

The conclusion to the Bizarro-Jr. story.

Like it wasn’t bad enough that we had to deal with Bizarro-Superman, Bizarro-Lois Lane AND Bizarro-Jr. now we are subjected to Bizarro-Supergirl as well?

In the previous chapter of this story Superman decided that the safest place for Bizarro-Jr. was his Fortress of Solitude. The one thing Superman did not think of doing before bringing Bizarro-Jr. there was to put away all his dangerous toys. Bizarro-Jr. accidentally sets off a Duplicator Ray which creates a Bizarro-Supergirl. Bizarro-Supergirl quickly falls in love with Bizarro-Jr. and doesn’t want to give him up, even when Bizarro-Superman comes to retrieve his missing son.

Bizarro-Superman is not happy that Bizarro-Supergirl won’t return Bizarro-Jr. to him. He considers it an act of war against Bizarro World and he rallies his troops to attack Earth. Superman creates blue Kryptonite (the Bizarro version of green Kryptonite) to keep them away from Earth. I’m sure Superman wouldn’t appreciate someone creating green Kryptonite but hey, these aren’t real people, just Bizarros.

Superman uses a piece of blue Kryptonite to weaken Bizarro-Supergirl and takes Bizarro-Jr. back to his parents. While on Bizarro World we find out that ALL Bizarro children are born looking normal and then start looking ‘Bizarro’ later in childhood. That’s a weight off Supergirl’s shoulders who thought it was her incompetence which caused Bizarro-Jr.’s current appearance. Bizarro-Supergirl’s life is a short and tragic one though, she flew too close to the blue Kryptonite stash and died. But really, who gives a sprock about Bizarros?
