Adventure Comics #336 Sept. 1965

This is the conclusion to the Starfinger storyline. Can the Legionnaires stop Starfinger from destroying the remaining Seven Wonders of the 30th Century and reveal his true identity? Which Legion member has betrayed his friends?

It’s Lightning Lad!

Don’t worry guys, Lightning Lad didn’t consciously betray the Legion, he was under the mind control of his physician (and real Starfinger) Dr. Hanscom. Rules number two and three of my Grand Unifying Theory of LoSH Asshole Behavior™ apply here. Even though Lightning Lad blames Dr. Hanscom’s super-hypnotism for his evil deeds I think Garth was always in control of himself and just felt like destroying stuff.

What was the Legion’s batting average for saving the Seven Wonders of the 30th Century?

1. Sun City: The city was saved but the Trans-Atlantic Bridge was damaged.

2. Stratosphere Laboratory: Destroyed

3. Global Tunnel: Destroyed

4. Giant Hall of Fame: Destroyed.

5. Reversed Waterfalls: Damaged.

6. The Great Wind Control Center: Saved (not attacked).

7. Fusion Powersphere: Saved.

Don’t forget: this was one mind-controlled Legionnaire (plus some thugs) against the whole Legion!
